Watercolour Batik is a one-day art retreat celebrating traditional beauty of batik - the art of decorating fabric using intricate resist patterns. Participants will learn to imitate the technique using accessible materials - watercolours and paper.
Together with the art tutor you will learn how to plan the artwork, how to make the design interesting, and how to select colours to keep them fresh. Participants will get an insight into the fascinating world of batik, play with various texture effects, and create a few colourful paintings to take home.
The workshop is very beginner-friendly, and is perfect for anyone looking to improve their watercolour skills. No previous experience or drawing skills required: the artist will provide all art materials, and will walk you step-by-step through the painting process.
The course fee includes a morning tea/coffee & pastry, plus lunch.
